Terms and Conditions

LESSON PAYMENT, CANCELLATION AND MAKEUP POLICIES

    1. Tuition is a flat monthly fee. Most months have four (4) or five (5) lessons, and on rare occasions, three (3) lessons when in observance of major national holidays.

    2. Membership guarantees a regular weekly lesson time with your teacher.

    3. Tuition payments are billed monthly 7 days in advance prior to the 1st of the following month, and are due by the 25th of the current month.

    4. Membership tuition is billed automatically to your debit or credit card on the 25th of the month prior to the 1st of the following month.

    5. All payments are automated using recurring Debit Billing or Credit Card billing. Billing can be set up by logging into our website at mirallesmusic.com/registration or by receiving an email from us at info@mirallesmusic.com.

    6. Credit card payment instantly reserves enrollment, otherwise your space is not reserved until payment is received.

    7. A $15 late fee will be charged for payments received after the 10th of each month.

    8. Lesson spots may be forfeited if tuition is over 2 weeks late. Since all payments are automated, lateness occurs when a payment is declined. Notification of a declined payment will be sent and billing information must be updated promptly through GoCardless/Stripe web portal.

    9. Bi-weekly and partial month tuition will be adjusted or prorated.

    10. Credit card payments are accepted online through Stripe secure SSL server.

    11. Direct Debit billing is accepted online through GoCardless.

    12. No refunds, credits or discounts will be given once tuition is paid.

    13. Students are responsible for additional costs associated with educational materials, music books, instrument rentals, accessories, etc…

    1. Students are expected to be punctual to their weekly lessons.

    2. Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time.

    3. Students more than 5 minutes late for their lesson will not get the full allotted lesson time. Since lessons are scheduled back-to-back, lessons will end at the time the next student’s lesson is scheduled to begin.

    4. If your lesson starts late because the instructor’s schedule is running behind, you WILL receive your full lesson or a makeup credit.

  • Missed Lessons

    1. NO tuition credit or refund will be provided for missed lessons.

    2. Makeup lesson credits will be issued when a lesson is cancelled with at least 24-hour advance notice by emailing info@mirallesmusic.com, or by requesting a cancellation online through our portal.

    3. PLEASE DO NOT TEXT, CALL or EMAIL YOUR TEACHER – Miralles Music administration must have a record of a cancellation for you to receive a makeup credit.

    4. If a student cancels with at least 24-hour notice, a makeup can be scheduled in an open time slot through the Miralles Music scheduling portal or by contacting the Miralles Music admin.

    5. Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will not qualify for a makeup lesson credit (this includes being sick the day of a scheduled lesson) and an online lesson alternative will be offered on condition of an acceptable absence.

    6. Makeup lesson credits expire 30 days after membership ends. They can be used to schedule makeup lessons online or by emailing info@mirallesmusic.com, at any time with your teacher or any other Miralles Music teacher (subject to availability).

    7. No more than one (1) makeup lesson credits can be pending at any time per membership.

    8. If there is no in-person makeup time slot available, your teacher will schedule a virtual zoom lesson or upload a pre-recorded curated lesson and practice plan to your student profile. (Curated lessons include video lessons, music files, courses, helpful links and other assignments and are considered a makeup lesson)

    9. If there are no makeup times available with your teacher, you will either receive a video lesson or you have the option to schedule with another Miralles Music teacher.

    10. Makeup credits have no cash value and cannot be used past the expiration of a lesson membership.

    11. Makeup lessons cannot be rescheduled.

    12. Please do not text, call or email your teacher - Miralles Music administration must have a record of a cancellation for you to receive an all access pass missed lesson credit.

    13. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. These cases will include traffic issues and emergencies. Lack of preparation will not be excused. (i.e. Forgetting or scheduling other activities instead of participating in lessons and etc.) Lessons missed due to emergencies will not incur the missed lesson fee.

    1. The studio is closed between Christmas Eve and New Years Day, Spring Break (the week before Easter), Memorial Day, July 4th (Independence Day), Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

    2. We do not follow the school calendar for days off (M.L.K. Day, Columbus Day, Presidents Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, etc…)

    3. Your teacher may choose to schedule makeup lessons on days that the studio is closed for holidays and breaks.

    4. In the event of an inclement weather cancellation, you will be notified of a studio closure. Lessons cancelled due to inclement weather will be held virtually or a curated lesson and practice plan to their account.

    5. We do not follow the school districts for inclement weather cancellations.

  • If the student is absent for several weeks or months, we charge 1/3 per week out. Here are more details of our costs below:

    30 Minute Membership = $15.00/Week

    45 Minute Membership = $22.00/Week

    60 Minute Membership = $28.00/Week

    We require at least one week's notice for it to be processed by our financial team. We will refund the difference if you are already billed for the current month. In addition, please inform us of the student's return date.

  • If the student leaves for the summer months (July & August), we require a pre-payment of 1/2 of September month to secure his/her spot. The deadline is by July 29 of every calendar year. There will be no refunds for Pre-Payments.

    1. Membership may be cancelled by the 15th day of the month by submitting our online cancellation form.

    2. Cancellation will be effective as of the month next tuition is due. You may withdraw the cancellation at any time before it takes effect, but your teacher and/or time slot can not be guaranteed.

    3. Active membership is mandatory to participate in our events and recitals.

    4. All makeup absence passes on your account expire after 30 days from cancellation effective date.

    5. Membership is not transferable.

    6. Miralles Music Academy does not provide tuition refund under any circumstances.

    7. Miralles Music Academy reserves the right to terminate membership, in which case prorated tuition will be refunded.

    8. No refund or credit will be given for any cancellations part way through a term for all group lessons and private 1-on-1 lessons at Miralles Music Academy.

    9. If, in exceptional circumstances, MMA (Miralles Music Academy) has to cancel the student's lesson due to damage of MMA property or harassment of MMA staff by the student, this may be done with no notice.

    1. Overdue accounts can accrue penalties of $30 when overdue for 28 days and $15 for every following 14 day period.

      a) LATE PAYMENT Penalties will be added to accounts that are 28 days in arrears. If the account remains overdue, further penalties will be added every 14 days.

      b) The customer is responsible for any and all charges that their bank may levy for rejecting any payment to MMA (Miralles Music Academy).

    2. MMA does reserve the right to fully suspend students from lessons with unpaid term fees during term time. A full suspension means that MMA has the right to fill the students lesson time slot with another student from the waitlist.

    3. The customer is responsible for any damages done to the musical instruments, equipment, and/or property of Miralles Music Academy.

  • Miralles Music Academy is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.

  • You assume all risk of injury or harm to the child(ren) or adult(s) associated with participation in musical activities at Miralles Music Academy and agree to release, indemnify, defend and forever discharge Miralles Music Academy and its officers and staff from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses in the unlikely event of injury sustained by your child(ren) or adult student during the course or as a result of their participation in related musical activities.

  • Unless requested in writing, Miralles Music Academy is granted permission to take photographs/videos of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and other promotional materials Miralles Music Academy creates. Permission is also hereby granted for Miralles Music Academy to copyright such photographs in its name.

  • Miralles Music Academy reserves the right to refuse service to any person(s) at any time.

  • The Terms and Conditions described above are agreed to upon enrolment and may be changed at any point by Miralles Music Academy without providing notice to the customer. A copy of the Terms and Conditions will always be available on our website and may be emailed to the customer on request.

At Miralles Music Academy, we understand that life can get complicated. We also know that successful and fulfilling musical studies depend on regular commitment. That’s why we’ve designed our policies to give you as much flexibility as possible while still promoting consistency. 

Our teachers reserve time on their schedules, plan for your lessons, and invest in the long-term development of each student. To provide regular, quality lessons, the following policies need to be observed.
